I’ve been obsessed with The Little Mermaid since 1989. I realize that Hans Christian Andersen’s version is much more tragic and is also very important to me. In 2016, I traveled to Copenhagen to visit that magical city. I made the pilgrimage to the northeast side of the city to find her. I created this painting the following year.
